Toronto Star cites Senior Fellow Peter Wallace on a Jurisdictional Divide

Edward Keenan writes about the situation facing York University students who contend with higher commuting costs since the opening of the extended subway line to their campus.

He extensively cites Senior Fellow in Public Policy and former Toronto City Manager Peter Wallace on the unwillingness of governments to examine the issue from a rider’s point of view.

“During one of the last speeches he delivered directly to the public as Toronto’s city manager in 2017, at the University of Toronto’s Institute on Municipal Finance and Governance, Peter Wallace called out the need to erase the ‘nonsensical’ divisions between services delivered by different governments across jurisdictional and municipal borders, and instead look at them from a ‘client perspective.'”
