Beyond the Headlines (BTH) is a one-hour current affairs talk radio show aimed at providing a greater understanding and thoughtful discussion of the various policy issues in our daily news headlines. BTH aims to take listeners beyond the immediacy of our daily news.

Ford + SPPG Conference

The Ford+SPPG Conference is a student-led policy conference that brings together the best and brightest future policymakers from both sides of the Canada-US border.   Co-hosted annually between students from the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan and from the School of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Toronto, the conference provides a unique opportunity for joint exploration, discussion and analysis.

The Public Good Initiative (PGI) is the student-led pro bono consulting organization at SPPG. The PGI’s mission is to make a positive contribution to the policy capacity of the not-for-profit sector. The School of Public Policy & Governance Students’ Association (SPPGSA) is the elected body representing MPP students. The SPPGSA is committed to building community at the School through social and co-curricular programming, providing program support to the student body, and advocating for student interests.

Walter Gordon Symposium

Walter Gordon Symposium Committee

The Walter Gordon Symposium (WGS) is a public policy conference organized every year by SPPG students in conjunction with graduate students from Massey College. Recent symposia have covered a range of topics including national energy strategy, global security and the responsibility to protect, and the effects of rising inequality on democracy.


 

Gender, Diversity and Public Policy Initiative

The Gender, Diversity, and Public Policy Initiative (GDPP) promotes the adoption of an intersectional lens in policy analysis. GDPP is a graduate student-led organization at the University of Toronto School of Public Policy and Governance  (SPPG) and encourages the discussion of gender and identity-based inequalities in the realm of public policy in collaboration with SPPG student initiatives, faculty and administration, our alumni advisory group, and other networks within the University of Toronto landscape.
