Mel Cappe Says ‘Trump Owes Trudeau an Apology’ in The Globe and Mail

President Trump’s insults are outrageous and “beyond the pale.”
Mel Cappe, a former Clerk of the Privy Council and High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, writes that international norms were broken when President Trump called Prime Minister Justin Trudeau “weak and dishonest” after the G7 Summit.
“This is a demand for respect for our democracy. We elected Mr. Trudeau, love him or hate him. It is not the job of President of the United States to judge Canada’s Prime Minister. His task is to deal with the pressing issues we share.”
